"We had always had Great Danes in the past and loved large dogs. We lost our first Female and happened upon Kim while she had a litter being delivered. We instantly clicked and purchased our first Mastiff named Boonen. While we were used to large dogs, Kim proved to be an invaulable resource of information and support. I had always wanted to do the Raw Diet but never had the courage. Needless to say we have switched with confidence and Kim is always there to help with questions. She is also more than a "breeder", she takes pride in her line and strives to breed for the correct type and temperament. She truly cares about the well being of each puppy that leaves her home. Boonen is the most amazing dog and we feel blessed each and every day. When she was having her next litter, we couldn't resist. "Kim we just wanted to thank you for Rio. As you know this is our fourth mastiff and we also have aussies. We were so excited when we heard there was someone breeding with strong ties to Old School with an emphasis on maintaining the correct mastiff type. Although, Rio is only fourteen weeks old we already see great potential. He looks great but the best part is his temperament. We have had him out around people and other dogs and he is confident and alert. Two weeks ago we took him to a nursing home and he behaved so well it was amazing. That visit was a result of a trip back to Illinois. He traveled well behaved in the hotels and made us proud. We purchased him in hopes of having a show dog and I think that he will do very well at that but the best part he is going to be a wonderful companion. We know you have worked hard to make Southland a very respectable kennel name and we believe you have done that. "My handling and training experience with Kim Cooley of Southland Mastiffs was a great one from day one. From our first conversations, I found Kim to be honest and sincerer and have a great passion for dogs and the show ring.
